For two decades, The Winslow in Fort Collins has been a cornerstone of vibrant independent living in the Columbine Health Systems family. This year, we are celebrating our 20th anniversary, a milestone that reflects a deep commitment to community, care, and creating a place our residents are proud to call home. To honor this occasion, we celebrated with residents by opening a time capsule, throwing a birthday party filled with memories, and hosting a special champagne banquet.
A Tradition of Excellence
What makes The Winslow so special? According to Chelsea Irwin, the Winslow Administrator, it’s the sense of community and the exceptional dining experience. “We have really perfected our processes of making residents feel welcome and incorporated into our community,” Chelsea shares. “It is so important that new residents feel at home.”
This spirit extends to the dining room, which offers a complete cook-to-order menu featuring from-scratch cooking. The community’s unique champagne banquets are a beloved tradition, and residents receive complimentary guest meal credits, making it easy to share a meal with friends and family. It’s these thoughtful details that foster a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Evolving with Our Residents
Since opening in 2005, The Winslow has evolved, always keeping resident preferences at the forefront. Through monthly input meetings, residents help shape the community’s activities and dining menus. The community has also adopted technology to enhance resident safety and has expanded its wellness offerings to include daily workout classes, such as Tai Chi Chih, Yoga, and weight training.
More Than a Home
The Winslow is a place where beautiful memories are made. From Golden 90s tea parties to flower arranging and Bridge Club, traditions are a cherished part of life here. It’s even a place where love can blossom; the team recently hosted a reception for a newly married couple who met and fell in love right here at The Winslow.
As an entry point into the Columbine Health Systems family, The Winslow plays a vital role in supporting residents’ health and well-being, ensuring smooth transitions if more care is ever needed. Looking ahead, The Winslow aims to become a nationally recognized leader in independent living by expanding its health programs and building even stronger community connections. For 20 years, it has been a place of joy, friendship, and exceptional care. We look forward to the next 20 years with excitement and gratitude.
